Broken Arrow’s Varsity Tigettes spent two weekends leading a Neighborhood Food Drive to benefit Broken Arrow Neighbors. Captain, Rachel Fulton, worked with Broken Arrow Neighbors to determine specific food items that were needed. She then contacted Tulsack, Inc in an effort to obtain sacks. Tulsack donated 1,000 sacks. Rachel then typed a flyer and she, along with the Varsity Tigettes, attached these flyers to the sacks. On Saturday, October 31st, these sacks were attached to doorknobs in her neighborhood. The flyer gave instructions to neighbors on what items were most needed and explained they should place the sack on the front porch the following Saturday. On Saturday, November 7th, parents drove vehicles around the neighborhood as the Tigettes picked up the sacks. Once all the sacks were picked up, the items in the sacks were pre-sorted by type of food item. Approximately 300 homes participated, raising over 4,000 items for Broken Arrow Neighbors.
